about

'Adrift' is ELETE's first full length album. Recorded, mixed and mastered by the band on a zero dollar budget, this album is a 12 track foray into the intricacies of a dystopian world where an intelligent race has lost their way and ultimately must discover a path that will will lead to their survival and salvation, or vanish into the cosmos as a relic of the evolution of the universe.

Track Name: observatory
let me divert your attention
through billions of points in the sky
i'm speaking of one in specific
just one little blue point of light

televisions and religions
cars and satellites
starving infants and inventions
made to take a life

now focus the lens to your liking
make sure you can see the details
we can't miss a second of fighting
we have to know if sanity or hunger prevails

televisions and religions
cars and satellites
starving infants and inventions
made to take a life
smart and senseless watch their wrenches
build machines to fight
no one finches as they witness
all their hopes and futures die
Track Name: the book of genesis
right now what you know is real could very well be lies
we have rendered consequence that has yet to transpire

we will come to face it
the surface will fold
it all just gets wasted
nobody recalls
just how to be human
we burn up the day
destroying ourselves
and anyone in our way

and first came a human
and then came a mind
then there was a concept
and then a design
and then came a shelter
and fire was found
and then came the weapons
that would turn it around

gears and oil built a path to progress in our lives
fireworks to celebrate and bullets to define

a hunger for power
a struggle for souls
they all get devoured
and who's in control
corrupt politicians
a priest on a show
the smallest decisions
have affect on the whole

and first came a human
and then came a mind
then there was a concept
and then a design
and then came a shelter
and fire was found
and then came the weapons
that would turn it around

and then came a shelter
and fire was found
and then came the weapons
that would turn it around

but first came a human
and then came a mind
then there was a concept
and then a design
and then came a shelter
and fire was found
and then came the weapons
that would turn it around
Track Name: the greatest story ever told
you are wrong for disagreeing
i have voices i have light
there is proof that you're not seeing
because you lack the will to lie
evidence unnecessary
faith is all you need to fly
leaping from the edge believing
you won't be afraid to die

age old exploitation and the promise you won't die
they know that fear of death is what you're most inclined to buy

fantasy
the emptiness is filled with purpose
fallacy
it doesn't matter this is worth it
now to read
the greatest book that ever surfaced
bow to me
and you will live forever until you die

they should have taught you from your birth
that you are put here on this earth
to do his will fulfill his plan
that's how you muzzle common man
and make the masses bow to powers that the people need to stop

slowly now the cord gets pulled on
disconnection eminent
one by one their education
questions everything you print
now the sun is truly rising
brighter than the fires of hell
now the truest faith can find us
now we can have faith in ourselves

i have an imaginary friend
and he's with me everywhere i am
i've had an imaginary friend
since i was old enough to stand
i have an imaginary friend
if you don't have one it's a sin
i have an imaginary friend
real life is worthless next to him

unconditional love
on the condition that you give up your say
unconditional love
on the condition that you bow and obey
Track Name: keep it to yourself
simple pleasures
dilute our compassion
deny our conviction
it's not who we should set out to be
no one cares if no one
cares to be thoughtful
success is our gospel
regardless of what we could achieve

we've marched and we've murdered to be pressed to this
our hearts have deserted us to senselessness
that marks the demise of what we could have become
if we knew what it was to be human

nobody gives a fuck
so sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up
if it's up to me then you're fucked
collect the dollar and pass the buck

we have followed the path of a prophet
collecting a profit
it's higher than the deepest belief
but tomorrow we see we cannot stop it
it skyrockets
and now we're sinking into the deep

there is no redemption it's a matter of me
it gets me attention and i'm flattered to be
a fucking pompous bottom feeding piece of our legacy
i will prosper through the demise of my brothers

nobody left to save corruption's taken our souls
we've stumbled to a grave and bury bodies in gold
this is the greatest tragedy that's ever been told
the story of a race that dies so painfully slow

your dollars don't make sense
blood on the hands of dead presidents

nobody gives a fuck
so sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up
if it's up to me then you're fucked
collect the dollar and pass the buck
Track Name: if you only knew
everybody is afraid to die
but they just let the world keep passing them on by
a string of days that seem so sensible
we wear ourselves so thin that we're invisible

all eyes are on the endless loop that we all stumble through
there isn't time to see just what it is we're here to do
each one has stumbled on a path that forms a ring repeating
that takes you back to where you were erasing every meaning

frozen
a daily crawl for your sanity
no one
can save us all single handedly
so just
give it the best that you can and please
hold on
and show them we are what this world can believe

everybody is afraid to live
they'll never shake your hand because their fist is clenched
too busy bickering to see the colour's glare
an iron shell of cold embattled empty stares

a million grains of sand eroding through the heart of you
clutching to fallacy the selfish keep on grinding through
always so treacherous and challenging to find the truth
so anyhow you'll be worn down and one day you're not you

frozen
a daily crawl for your sanity
no one
can save us all single handedly
so just
give it the best that you can and please
hold on
and show them we are what this world can believe

i know that it's hopeless
and i am like you
we're small and we're broken
but we know the truth
i'll be by your side when
they see what we do
we have to keep hoping
we will make it through
Track Name: shutup and row
they chose their destination
and they made their promises
and they said we'd see tomorrow
but taking was making them forget how to give
and no man is truly an island
and no soul is truly free
'cause you're trapped here with these tyrants
the tyrants that are you and me

no one wants to rock this boat now
we all sit in silent fear
getting by with a bolt on your mouth
don't speak up or the big bad wolf might hear

you've got a footprint on your back that you can't see
i'll never let these assholes walk all over me
there is a cat that's got your tongue and you can't speak
i'll never let these motherfuckers silence me

their mental isolation
and their choice of selfishness
is just half of this equation
the ones at fault are the ones who could care less
and no man is truly an island
'cause we let it come to this
somebody has to stomp out their shit
'cause when it burns it could be your porch next

everyone with oars in their mouths
rowing on this sinking ship
much too busy working to take
notice when they drown in shit!

row

you've got a footprint on your back you cannot see
i'll never let these assholes walk all over me
there is a cat that's got your tongue and you can't speak
i'll never let these motherfuckers silence me
Track Name: unconscious
today i did not wake
but i have always felt this way
it seems that i have given in
to sweet and deep decay
the world that we have built
and all the ways we make it turn
has burdened me with guilt
and deadened me with cold concern

and why should i try to awake
to realize the mistakes that we've made
we've defined our existence as slaves
and we will not escape from our ways

just point me to where i can see
and be outside our insanity
we are defective creatures and we
are unconscious and down upon our knees

we walk like living dead
and never question what we're told
transmitters in our heads
will tell us what we're supposed to know
shepherds of media
conceal the men behind the curtain
don't know which way is up
cause i'm lost in such an endless circus

and why should i try to awake
to realize the mistakes that we've made
we've defined our existence as slaves
and we will not escape from our ways

just point me to where i can see
and be outside our insanity
we are defective creatures and we
are unconscious and down upon our knees

just point me to where i can see
and be outside our insanity
we are defective creatures and we
are unconscious and down upon our knees
our blindness will slowly eat away at our faith
we designed this and now it just laughs in our face
in our minds it's the way that we were meant to behave
but i promise that no one here will ever be saved

no none of us could ever be saved
Track Name: apocalyptic
7 billion motherfuckers looking out for themselves
all you give a fuck about is you and nobody else
even those of you that never could've run out of wealth
it's embarrassing you barely lift a finger to help

some imaginary person that they talk to alone
keeps on telling them to disagree with others who don't
screaming love and charity but throwing every stone
they will prove that they are right if it means killing their own

the world is going to end
so we don't care let's burn this bitch
we don't need to pretend
we never really gave a shit

little men who trade society for personal gain
fill their glasses while the working class behave and obey
they're rewarded selling out their people day after day
so the wretches of society can have it their way

the world is going to end
so we don't care let's burn this bitch
we don't need to pretend
we never really gave a shit
but it may never end
an infinite apocalypse
so maybe we should live
and learn to be humans again
Track Name: facts on the ground
we all see that we are broken
but no one seems to care anymore
we live each day in the lives we've chosen
and most of us don't even know what for

tell me that you believe in something
something that can save us all
today we are sick and detached and corrupted
ensuring that tomorrow we fall

we're catching insects in the palm of our hands
we tell them dirty little secrets that we know they cannot understand
we're treading earth where everybody began
and counting all the little pieces that we broke for the indulgence of man

holding on to one another
in our final days we changed
knowing that we'd lose each other
if we did it all the same

tell me that we are achieving something
something that could mean everything
'cause i see a race that believes in nothing
and nothing's what we're going to be

we're catching insects in the palm of our hands
we tell them dirty little secrets that we know they cannot understand
we're treading earth where everybody began
and counting all the little pieces that we broke for the indulgence of man

spinning adrift into space
we just get further away
from leaving one little trace
of anything that we could've saved

we're catching insects in the palm of our hands
we tell them dirty little secrets that we know they cannot understand
we're treading earth where everybody began
and counting all the little pieces that we broke for the indulgence of man
and if we could've made it different i know
that we would be a million miles from the place that wasn't meant to be home
and if it matters i just wanted to say
that it's a miracle we have each other even though we're slipping away
Track Name: one last thing
with every minute passing by we see more truth
the more we realize the less we have a right to an excuse
sure it began with the naivete of youth
but in the end the end was in the plan that we had proofed

we all just waste away
we point our fingers from the grave
but we all share in this shame
'cause it's our fault anyway

appearances are burned into hearts of men
so we can be above the filth and decorate our skin
look at this pretty picture painted oh so thin
peel back a layer and find the monsters that reside within

we all just waste away
we point our fingers from the grave
but we all share in this shame
'cause it's our fault anyway

so many never thought to think for themselves
they followed everyone else
look where it's gotten us
we'll care a lot when we look straight into hell
realizing that we have failed
there was no stopping us

and we wasted it away
and we all share in this grave

we all just waste away
we point our fingers from the grave
but we all share in this shame
'cause it's our fault anyway
and we wasted it away
and we all share this grave
and we knew we'd see this day
we had it coming anyway
Track Name: captivity (the light of day)
every day that you have lived i have died
knowing that you started life in captivity
you have never felt the sun in your eyes
too dark to see the lack of basic humanity

the world is a circus of mirrors and smoke
i know that it hurts but you're the butt of a joke
you think you have purpose but you probably don't
you wanna believe it's a lie but

you can't see that you're in a prison
if you were born inside of a cage
you've dealt with the hand you were given
nobody ever showed you the light of day

any moment you could simply awake
i want to save you but you're pulling your hands from me
i can't reach in and try to help you escape
if you believe that you're already free

just one step of reason and beauty unfolds
the infinite speaks into the core of your soul
then you can just breathe in and give up control
you open up your eyes your hand is on the wall and now you

scratch at the surface and dig in
the cracks reveal the luminous rays
break through with these hands we were given
they'll build a better world in the light of day

you better brace yourself and hold on for what's coming next
the sky is falling and the universe begins to stretch
limitless wonder overcomes you as the lines connect
and now we're all just tiny diamonds you can see see us all shine

and nobody's life is a lie
and we all see eye to eye
and we love and cherish our lives
i'm so happy that i could die

you can't see that you're in a prison
if you were born inside of a cage
you've dealt with the hand you were given
nobody ever showed you the light of day

now scratch at the surface and dig in
the cracks reveal the luminous rays
break through with these hands we were given
they'll build a better world in the light of day

what if the world we've seen is a lie and we were denied reality
what if we found out we could revive our peace and survive the insanity
what if the hopelessness that we live is just a controlling fantasy
what if we all believed we could change and be what this world really needs to be
